Where will Grimsby be next season?

Lawrence Survival Formula

WITH Tranmere and QPR already looking doomed to relegation, the many permutations to decide the third place loser goes on. Grimsby manager Lennie Lawrence has disregarded the number crunchers and come up with his formula for rescuing the Mariners.

Over Easter Town will be facing Watford at Blundell Park on Saturday and West Brom away on Easter Monday. "Our target is four points. Somebody is going to fail and only get one point or nothing from the weekend and they're going to find themselves in the bottom three," said Lennie today. "We've got to make sure that isn't us."

"There's half a dozen teams involved and somebody is going to catch a cold. It looks like being Huddersfield just because of the sheer difficulty of their fixtures," he added.

"If Huddersfield take points off Blackburn and Fulham they'll deserve to stay up on that alone. Fulham were mighty impressive last night,"

"It's a massively significant weekend and you don't know, but if you get three or four points you'd be hoping there would be some distance from the bottom three."

"It's a good chance for us to put some daylight between ourselves and Huddersfield."

Lawrence has praised the Town fans for their support last Saturday and is calling on them once again to turn up for the Watford game. The BP ticket office reports some of the best advanced sales of the season with over 1,000 already sold.

"There's no doubt the fans were a factor last week,"said Lawrence."This can be an intimidating place when the wind starts blowing and there are six and a half thousand people here getting behind us." " But when there's four and a half thousand it's as quiet as a graveyard."
