Tony Rees1989/90-1994/95143 (20)34 goals

How can you describe Tony Rees? Unlike most Buckley forwards he was not small, neat and tidy, but actually quite aggressive one of the ex-Town boss's players, although one very 'Buckley' characteristic was that half the time he was injured.

In Rees' last full season with the Mariners he featured in just 17 of all 50 games and it was rumoured that he got injured tying his shoelace, which would not surprise me in the slightest! But we won't take anything away from Tony because in Town's promotion seasons in the early 90s he was instrumental and spearheaded the Town attack scoring 10-15 goals a season.

Once he reached the first division, he did not look so good, which prompted his departure in 1995, when he left to become one of Alan Buckley's first signings at WBA! Reports about him from the Midlands were hardly inspiring and has not been seen for years!

Next Player: Ivano Bonetti
