Question of the Week

Who will go down?

Injury List 25/10/2001

By: Peter Forrester
Date: 25/10/2001

THE MARINERS face managerless Birmingham City tomorrow and a win would be a much needed boost for a team that needs to show their early season form to get the 2001-2002 campaign back on track.

With Town suffering badly on the pitch how badly are they suffering off it..........

Paul Raven - the centre back has played the last 2 reserve games. It is likely he will play in the next one and then if he gets through this unscathed he can then be seriously considered for first team action again after a lengthy lay off.

Wayne Burnett - the ex-Huddersfield man is still struggling with a groin strain and it is very likely he'll miss tomorrow's visit of Birmingham. However he should be available in the next week or so.

Michael Jeffrey - the forward has been at Lilleshall for a week but is now back in Grimsby. He is suffering from a back injury.

David Smith - "Smudger" still has a calf injury. It is unknown when he will be back. However when he does return some fans might be relieved as this means Smith can slot into the left position and unleash Campbell in the middle . The ex-Leicester man looks very restricted on the wing.

John McDermott - as we all know Macca has a bad calf injury and is out for some weeks yet.

Steve Livingstone - Livvo is still in a seemingly endless rehabilitation and it's still uncertain when he will pull on a black and white shirt again.
