Our team of six decided to design, finance and construct a new ground for the Mariners. By coincidence our choice of venue was exactly the same as the present proposals. |

Business people, across the spectrum benefit from having a local, football league club. Local employment is boosted. Sponsors gain more business, interest is drawn from distant areas who recognise the name of the town because they hear it every saturday on the TV and radio. Football, from all clubs brings so much to a city, invest in the club to reap benefits across the board. The bad old days are gone, and modern day football is a blessing and bonus to any town. If naturalist concerns are the order of the day, review the reality. In WINCHESTER, Hampshire they claimed that wildlife would suffer from the road changes that were made in introducing the M3 extension - the reality is that wildlife more than adequately adapted. the area has developed to the benefit of both nature and man. Unless there is an absoloutely rock solid reason not to build a new ground ignore the NIMBY's and give the goahead to a development that will benefit many more than will regret it.
