Boulding Looking To Play Saturday!!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 20/12/2001

THERE was some good new for Mariners supporters today with the news that Michael Boulding may be fit by Saturday and taking part in the game. Boulding returned to the Club on Thursday morning and is looking forward to getting back in to the fray.

Talking to Mariners Net he said: "I was in bed for a couple of days. But I managed to get some food down me yesterday (Wednesday). I still feel a bit weak. I think I'll be OK for Saturday if selected. I've got a couple of days to build up again, and so I reckon I'll be all right."

On the Preston game he commented "Preston have been up and down, but we have to concentrate on our own game."

"We have to work hard and carve out a few chances. It's a case of not letting any goals in, and creating some chances ourselves, and getting on the end of them. Any result would be welcome, we need to start picking up some points and to start doing it quickly."

"We've been playing OK," Walsall was a massive set-back for us, we've got to put that right. The players want to rectify what happened on Saturday, go out and start winning some games."

"On a personal basis, I've broken into the side, and I'm playing week-in week-out. But I want to improve, I want to do better myself, and I want this team to do better. We need to turn things round. "I've scored some goals, but I'm desperate to score more."
