NEW Grimsby Town signing Craig Armstrong is likely to go straight into the Mariners side to face Luton tonight, in the centre of midfield. Armstrong signed from Sheffield Wednesday yesterday in a one month loan deal.

There seems to be confusion surrounding the case of Nick Daws who it was thought would put pen to paper on another month's loan with Town. However, Daws has already spent three months on loan with the club, and as seen in the John Oster case from last season, it may be that the Mariners cannot have him for another month. Also, Rotherham boss Ronnie Moore may need Daws on the bench for their game on Tuesday night having let Guy Branston out on loan to Peterborough this week. The Millers squad is down to the bare bones and have been struggling to make a squad of 16 in the last few weeks. If Daws doesn’t sign for the Mariners, then Armstrong will partner Des Hamilton in midfield.

It seems likely that both Jason Crowe and John McDermott are going to miss out again through injury. McDermott will be back in action in the next few weeks, whilst Crowe’s hamstring injury is set to sideline him for a second successive game. Good news for Town is that Stacy Coldicott could well be back in the squad, but is probably more likely to start on the bench as he is still lacking match fitness.

Aidan Davison plays his last game before suspension on Saturday, while Mike Edwards starts his three match ban. This could mean a start for Wes Parker at right back, with Simon Ford moving back into the centre of defence after playing at full back at Colchester.

Luton will keep the side that beat Brentford 4-1 at the weekend despite the returns of Paul Hughes and ex Town defender Alan Neilson . Town will need to watch out for striker Enoch Showunmi who scored a hat trick in at the weekend, extending Luton’s unbeaten run to eight games. Former Mariners loanee Morten Hyldgaard will be in goal for the Hatters.

Probable teams:

Town: Davison, Parker, Crane, Ford, Barnard, Anderson, Armstrong, Hamilton, Campbell, Thorpe, Rankin.
Subs (from) Young, Hockless, Jevons, Mansaram, Coldicott, Soames, Pettinger, Ward.

Luton: Hyldegaard, Keane, Davis, Boyce, Coyne, Nicholls, Robinson, Leary, Holmes, Howard, Showunmi.
SUBS (from) Hughes, Neilson, Brkovic, Brill, O’ Leary, Foley.

Prediction: 3-1 to Town
