Slade Chasing Strikers!

RUSSELL Slade is hoping to sign Tranmere forward Paul Robinson on loan. An ex-Newcastle United junior, he joined Tranmere aged 16.

Tranmere OS describes him as a striker with a fantastic touch and awareness and comfortable on either foot. He scored over 20 goals for Tranmere's reserves and youth team last term.

Loaned out last season for a month with non-league Vauxhall Motors to gain first team experience Tranmere may let him join the Mariners.

Slade is also looking at ex-Bermudan forward John Barry Nusum. The big forward currently plays for Toronto side Atlanta Silverbacks but represented Bermuda in the world cup.

He has also played for Southern California's Furman team and earned the Player of the Year Award finishing the season second in the league scoring with 15 goals.

In order for Newsome to play for Town, however, he must be signed by Tuesday in time to get international clearance.
