Date: 20/06/2005

MIDFIELDER Sam Aiston, who turned down a move to Grimsby last month after a last minute decision to move to Darlington instead, is now a free agent. The former Shrew has failed to agree personal terms with the Quakers, despite several weeks having elapsed.

Aiston had verbally agreed a two year contract with the Mariners, only to pull out at the eleventh hour after an approach from the North East club.

  • The fixture list for the 2005-2006 season will be released on Thursday morning, and Grimsby's games will appear on this site shortly after their publication.

  • Town's second string will play in a new look Pontin's Holiday League next season. Instead of a premier league and two regional leagues there will be three regional leagues next season. Town are provisionally placed in Division One East along with Darlington, Doncaster, Hartlepool, Hull, Lincoln, Scarborough, Scunthorpe, Sheff Utd B and York City,
