THE big clash in League Two this weekend sees first place Grimsby take on the unbeaten Wycombe Wanderers, who currently lie third. Rob Sedgwick caught up with Wycombe fan Ian Baker to find out what the Chairboys' view of the big clash was.

You seem to have got off to a good start. Are you pleased with the way things have gone for Wycombe so far?

Absolutely. 12 games unbeaten at the start of the season and 3rd in the league. It's been a great start, although some fans still aren't happy!

Do you think in John Gorman Wycombe have found the right manager?

Yes, Gorman (top) has turned us into one of the most entertaining teams in the country, although he probably needs to work on the defence.

In which area are Wycombe strongest: defence, midfield or attack?

Attack - well according to the 13 goals in four games we are! With Tyson, Mooney and Betsy we have a lethal strike force.

What sort of formation/tactics can we expect?

Nathan TysonMuch will depend on whether Tyson (left) plays, but expect a flat back four with two attacking full backs. In midfield we are likely to see Argentine, Torres, in a kind of free role with Betsy attacking towards the right and linking up with the front two of Tyson and Mooney.

Do you think your squad is stronger or weaker than last season?

Our squad is much stronger. Last season we started with about 11 good players. We could hardly call ourselves a squad. But the strength in depth is there this season.

What lessons can you learn from last season?

We should have found the net more last season (we've started to do that) and also kill games off (we've not yet achieved that ability!)

What players should we look out for?

Kevin GetsyTyson if fit - 13 goals in 14 games, he is certain to go in January though. Also look out for Betsy (left) who has started to hit some real form.

Which of the teams you've played so far his impressed the most?

Chester played well last week. I was also quite impressed with Barnet.

What are your abiding memories of last season's Grimsby/Wycombe games?

A goalless draw which we should have won. It all but ended our play off hopes.

Who are your biggest rivals in this division?

Oxford United - for local reasons.

Finally, a scoreline prediction?

I'm usually optimistic but I reckon Grimsby might shade this one - 3-2.

Thanks to Wycombe fan Ian Baker of wsab.co.uk/ for the interview.
