Hockless To Oz

Date: 29/10/2005

GRAHAM Hockless is to leave England for Australia to play for Ricmond in the Australian Premier League which is presently being reorganised.

"The prospect of moving to the other side of the world is a scary thought but it is also an exciting challenge for me. It has come at the perfect time for me. I've no commitments apart from my parents and brother and sister and they're all busy planning their holidays already!"

"Everyone is well aware of the lifestyle in Australia and it appeals to me greatly. However, there is always a down side to everything and, in this case, it is leaving Ferriby. Throughout my career I have never felt so wanted and welcome at any club I have ever played for. The chairman, management team, players and supporters have made me so welcome."

"Whenever my parents have come to Church Road to watch, they too have been made to feel welcome and part of the Ferriby family. I'll miss everyone at the club. Since I've told my team mates I've had all the kangaroo jokes and have had them all humming the theme from Neighbours!"
