No Manager for a Fortnight

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 03/06/2006

TOWN Chairman John Fenty has said that there will be no new appointment of a manager for two weeks until Fenty comes back from holiday. There had been a possibility of the Town board finding a replacement quickly before the Grimsby supremo jetted off next week, but that has not happened.

"Obviously we have to make sure we have the right man but I'm confident we will," the Town Chairman told Mariners Net, who also said he would be keeping in touch with events whilst on holiday.

The Town board have received many applications to replace Russell Slade, who left the club this week, but refuse to name their main target, although Fenty promises the fans will not be disappointed if and when he is persuaded to come to Blundell Park.

"The process is underway and if we get the man we want, I'm sure the fans will be happy with the choice."

Should their first choice not get the job there is no shortage of other potential successors.

"We have been inundated with applications and CVs since we parted company with Russell Slade, " said Fenty.

The preferred choices amongst the fans include Paul Wilkinson, Ronnie Moore, John Gorman, Tony Ford and Glen Cockerill. Shortlist and Betting.
