Beat the Bookies: Week 8

LAST week was a case of the almosts. Town could easily have drawn with Walsall and Villa almost beat West Ham. But unfortunately almost is not good enough.

This weekend the Mariners play another team whose recent form is miserable. It seems to be the case every other week, and Grimsby always seem to lose to whoever it is! This week Chester are favourites to beat Town at the Deva Stadium, with bet365.com making the Blues 6/5 to topple Town. Grimsby are 19/10 to record a win, about the first time this season we've been given a realistic price of getting three points, against a team who have not won in six games.

Elsewhere in League Two Accrington's 5-0 shock home win over Wrexham in midweek surely means they can go on to beat Boston at home in 3 days' time. bet365.com are offering 11/10 for a Stanley victory against a Boston side still to recover from the loss of their star player and local lad Julian Joachim.

Recommended Bets

  • 1. Grimsby to beat Chester (19/10 with bet365.com).
