TOWN try to save Buckley with the easy task of travelling to heavily bankrolled league leaders MK Dons.

The Opposition

Overview

Does anybody really need retelling the terrible tale of the nasty football club which took away one of the worst attended teams and took it to a town full of plastic cows and American-style grid patterned roads? Only to get attendances which hardly made it worth being the most hated club in England apart from Chelsea. Winkleman just recently tried to show his nice side by finally giving back AFC Wimbledon some of the history of the original Dons: the old FA Cup, the first ever football, an inflatable Harry Haddock you know the important stuff from their history. On the pitch MK have moved into their shiny new stadium which they hope may host a part in the 2018 World Cup to be held in Mexico or anywhere else that FIFA can think of but England. Either way it's half finished and though it looks good from the outside it feels slightly odd inside it with a mass of concrete. A real half-arsed effort which Fenty must not see for ideas about our new pretty Stadium/Birdwatchers shed.

The Team
On the pitch rather than around it things are looking fairly rosy. Unfortunately top of the league with the best goal difference MK are in form and producing some good displays as the league starts to take shape. Paul Ince (above), famous for his time at Macclesfield, is starting to make his name as a manager and many will say he’s learnt a lot off Fergie, Robson etc etc. In came Ince and so did 11 new players not mentioning loan players including former Macclesfield duo Danny Swailes and Alan Navarro (left). Out of course went highly rated Izale Mcleod to Charlton as did Jon Paul McGovern and Dominic Blizzard. Ince can also call upon youngster Bally Smart on loan from Norwich to help bolster his pretty well stocked squad which he hopes will turn MK Dons' joyous decline to the abyss.

Key Player
Keith Andrews. If he plays the former Hull City midfielder's efforts have seen him rise to top scorer in the squad with seven and he is quickly becoming a fans' favourite. After learning his trade at Wolves the Irish international travelled around the West Midlands to Walsall, Stoke and Oxford (it’s in that general direction). Now at MK the 27-year-old will hope to settle and start to make a name for himself in what he hopes will be a great season for him and MK.

Team News

TownMK Dons

  • Fenton will face his one match an after his sending off on Saturday.

  • Barnes returns after his suspension.

  • Butler will face a fitness test to see whether he can play.

  • Logan plays his last game for Town before returning to Man City.

  • Bolland and Rankin are both still out of action.
  • Captain Keith Andrews is waiting on appeal against his red card so his suspension will probably be delayed and he will be available for the Town game.

  • Lloyd Dyer is out through suspension.

    Head to Head

History between these two clubs does not count for much as MK Dons have only in recent seasons become a wealthy team whereas in the past they were just the opposite. Last year both teams won their away games.
