The best solution of all would be to get a goalkeeping coach who is also an assistant manager, since we don't have either. That's what Wrexham have done (Michael Oakes).

Tim Flowers have just left Kiddy. Not sure if he's gone anywhere else, would have excellent contacts.

I wonder if the fact that he will now be on his own so to speak has rung any bells with the management, I must admit I had not give it any thought, he will need someone in the know to bounce ideas off surely.

Don't think we need or warrant a goalkeeping coach, or a reserve keeper either. How much did Hedge take out of the budget last season for a couple of games played?

Perhaps Macca helping/coaching local league keepers would work too (if he fancied it)?

I think a decent backup keeper helps keep the first choice on his toes. Arthur, Fleming and Hedge are all senior keepers and solid reserves to McKeown.

Saying that, Mildenhall was very good and his backup was so shite we didn't even let him play in a pre season friendly!

On the assistant manager - would it be asking too much to have Stuart Watkiss as assistant AND youth team coach?
