Just had scan, out for 3 weeks with a right quad injury. Someone speculated last week why he wasn't picked. That's why, he was due to travel until the Friday.

Good job he's under contract with us until Summer 2022 then.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

It's a brilliant username isn't it, I wonder if it his favourite film!

William Holden can play John Fenty
Paul Newman can play Phillip Day
Steve McQueen Steven Marley
OJ Simpson can play Alex May!
Fred Astaire could do a job as Ian Holloway
Richard Chamberlain as Paul Hurst

Just to return to the OP subject, sorry boring... but maybe this is another example of how our pitiful Pre season is coming back to bite us ? If he’d had one of any professional level he’d probably been fit enough in the first place .

Seem to recall he was also injured quite regularly last season as well so unfortunately looks like the lad has problems. Maybe needs to take up yoga a la Ryan Giggs when he had lots of muscular injuries.

Wright is just the latest in a long line of players that are forever picking up niggles and strains.

Yes, there's always the odd player that is genuinely injury prone and sadly isn't physically cut out for full-time football.  But it seems like we appear to have more than anyone else.

Or is it just that our set-up is so bloody tin-pot that we don't do sports science at all?  When the attitude at the club is that a S&C coach doesn't win you 3 points, it's no wonder we pick up injuries left, right and centre.  So few of our injuries are impact injuries, it's all muscular and at some point you have to point the finger at the root cause.

Do we know that? I don't know how many injuries other sides have.

Apart from Max, Hurst said just about every player is now fit to play.

Nope, largely conjecture on my part.

But I would be confident it is the case.  21st century football with 19th century infrastructure.

I don't think it's particularly uncommon that a hell of a lot of players pass through our doors with wide eyes at our lack of everything.

I think Liverpool's injuries were identified as a fall-out from over exposure in the last few years, heightened by the condensing of games to complete the season, then quickly turned around into the new season.  Klopp has come in for a lot of criticism for not rotating his players enough, whereas the likes of Pep have.  I think this was one of the key drivers behind the extra substitutes.

You can have the best facilities in the world, but you can only flog something so far.  We can't really claim we've flogged Max Wright over too many games.

There was a lot of these big name/club injuries and talk of the over playing of players before Xmas but that seems to have died down a bit as, I'm guessing, managers who got better at rotating and adapting to the demands.  But we've had these issues for donkeys years now.

Some players have a few years of injury then dont have any for years, saying he is not robust enough for league football is a load of crap.
How often have you seen him bullied? never. hes as tough as anyone in the squad, anyone can pick up injuries like that and he will have long spells without.

Hmm....it's bloody amazing that Klopp didn't moan about his tired players when they were running away with the league. Ten points adrift of Man City and suddenly he's whining like Arsene Wenger.

Oh I don't disagree.  I think he's like most managers in that he's a lot more likeable when he's winning.  This season he's gone from quite a likeable happy-go-lucky type character to a stereotypical Premier League moaner.

He's burnt a lot of his players out, alebit in a change of circumstance, but hasn't adapted like everyone else has.  The tight schedule was there for all to see, players were dropping left, right and centre but he continued to flog his key players when he didn't need to.

Thing is, the tight schedule is a ready made excuse. Instead of coming out and just being honest and saying they’re not sure how to address it and solve it, they use an excuse.

Playing centre midfielders at centre half and bringing in a player like Thiago who is literally the opposite of the style Liverpool had the last 2/3 seasons hasn’t helped.

As with any manager under pressure he’s now sounding like a moan bottom.

Anyways, back to Max, any news when he’ll be back fit?

Ready made maybe, how many people buy it is another matter.  I mean, it's not rocket science to figure out that rotation and less intensity is the solution is it?

3 weeks I think I saw somewhere for Wright.  Hopefully he comes back ok as I think he's got something a little bit different to anything else we've got and could be key.
