I did think the red crosses were a bit bizarre. Thanks for clarifying, you've got a green tick from me by the way.
I've often thought this place would be better without the red crosses. Like something? Show casual appreciation with a green tick. Disagree with something or want to challenge it? That's what words are for. As it happens, I actually disagree with Golly in so much that I distinctly remember Lee Ashcroft scoring 28 goals for Town, of which 34 were penalties.

Exactly, I had the same thought. Some red crosses are deserved but a huge propertion are based upon the mood of the crosser or the oprnion that the crosser has of the of the person regardless of the comment. They encourage negativity. Green ticks support popularity contests on the other side of this but for me this is better than a barrage of negativity. Hope I get a gold star......... only joking.

This is a prime example of Brexit Britain. I post a statistical fact and I get red crosses because it doesn’t fit with the narrative some people want. When did some people start to think that their opinion has more weight than fact/reality?
Gold star on its way

QUIZ: what do Lee Ashcroft, Kevin Donovan and Alan Pouton have in common?
(there'll be other players who fit into this category too but I've not thought of them)

Scored 2 penalties in a match for Town? Pouts & Ashcroft definitely did. Not sure about Kevin’s Doner Van.

Just remembered Donovan did too I think. Wigan at home in 97/98 season. One of the fouls for the penalties was about 5 yards outside the area but forward momentum of the players fooled the officials.

I agree, the majority of other football forums that use 'likes' have them in the bar below the chat box, which shows who has actually liked the post. I'm not really sure why it has to be confidential, I guess this forum just has to be different. The red ticks, while many wont give a toss, to me just surrounds the forum with negativity, which we really don't want. Just my opinion anyway, like I say, most probally won't give a flying fook either way.

And don’t forget those 34 successful penalties were from taking only 26. That’s how good he was at penalties. I conversion rate of nearly 131%.
