‘Gonna’ is a commonly used colloquiallism or contraction of ‘going to’.

Disagree completely, it's nothing more than lazy text speech, in the same bracket as people using the word 'of' instead of 'have.

despite nearly all of the away followings telling is how they’d rather be at home because Grimsby’s a shite hole. .

It's a shame as some my family have all come from the area dating back at least 100 years . It didn't use to be this way. The collapse of the fishing industry was one of the main reasons for the decline. Back in the day Grimsby use to be a thriving fishing port ,one of the best in the world eg collected quality fish like cod ,haddock but it started to decline during the cod wars with Iceland in the early 1970s.

True but it's a shame how  some parts have degenerated . Needs regeneration especially by the docks. East Marsh could do with a clean up as well. When you drive past very sad to see some of the people on drugs there and how they've let themselves go. Something went wrong somewhere down the line  eg family breakups, peer pressure, lack of opportunities etc .

For me I applaud anyone who travels around the country supporting their team instead of being an armchair premier league fan,

*Disclaimer - This is my own personal opinion, I have nothing against people who don't go to live football matches and just watch sky sports, I just respect those that do travel more.

Completely agree about the beetroot sandwiches, if they had them at Old Trafford Roy Keane’s famous rant about the prawn sandwich brigade would have been quite different.

Seeing as this is an angry thread...cobblers! Look at Marco Lawless's Grimsby history forum on Facebook for regular photographic evidence of what a large part of Grimsby looked like throught the golden years of the fishing industry. Big houses on the park for the trawler owners, two up two down slums for the cannon fodder who earned them their money. Not saying it was any worse or better than anywhere else but let's not have it that Grimsby was the land of milk and honey for all its residents

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.

It was ever thus.

These days, the trawlers have gone, but the wealthy now own the two up two down slums (though hopefully not so slummy these days given modern legislation) so still make their money off the backs of the workers (as well as those who are out of work or disabled, off sick etc), one way or the other.
