Thanks Lads, Can't complain at 3rd place, Let's hope we can get our act together with our home form, 4 points minimum from the next 2 games in this next week, 6 would be lovely.

Grimsby and proud!

Fantastic result, well done to all.

Are we starting to become a serious team now ?

For me 2 questions

- Will that mean Cook now starts even though Elding seemed to play well ? (can't wait for the just back comments !)
- Why are some people still frowning thinking worse case scenarios ?!

Don't get this idea that we're jinxed at home.
Look you won't win every game even if you play well (which we did), just so happens our bad luck happened at home.
And wow shock horror twice in a row, well stranger things have happened !
But what's obviously clear is that we're regularly playing well.

Blimey there were enough people imagining the worst away just because of the Tamworths record.
And tbf I got sucked in myself a little until looking objectively at the bare facts & getting calming inspiration from the Hurst's no panic / "not concerned in the slightest" (his own words !) attitude.
So please let's not create another home/away red herring as if it really means anything ?

Got to hand it to Hurst, he's "Mr steady hand" in a whirlwind of natural concern and unnecessary panic.
Think we're lucky to have them both and thank god we stuck by them through the tough & early times.

Onwards and upwards...

Pleased that Andy Cook got the goal today - needs a couple for confidence !

I was working today, but Marcus Marshall sounded a handful in his first game before he ran out of steam!

Colbeck's definitely a right winger, then?

Another clean sheet, but the commentary sounded like it wasn't easy to achieve!

3rd is great - got to give credit to the decision to bring another winger in straight away - is this a real sign of intent to go full out for promotion this year?

When we play at home however many on here have lower expectations and that has a negative effect.

Well IMO it's not playing at home, it's after we've just lost.
"Fooled by randomness" if you ask me ...

I don't think it is randomness 80's.  Clearly we are set up to play effectively away from home and that doesn't naturally translate into home perfs.  Whilst recent perfs have been better than the results suggest we still haven't completely figured it out at home.  What should be of concern to the rest of the div is the distinct possibility that we figure it out and turn it around on our own patch.

Well done to S&H for what they have done to this point.  Genuinely positive for what is to come.

Agree half and half with you.

Yes we haven't FULLY worked teams out at home (and might be better on the counter) but like you say, recent perfs have been better than results suggest.
Yes you can argue "we struggle to break teams down" but had Maccs keeper not made all those saves or we hadn't conceded 3 early goals I'm sure we'd have been saying that we figured them out.

Win lose or draw surely it's only a matter of time before this statistic is put to bed for good anyway ?
Suppose part of my concern is the longer we keep keep obsessing and worrying about it, the more risk it's gonna turn into a self fulfilling prophecy.
I mean TWO games ffs, really ?!
If it gets to 4 then maybe, perhaps, but sorry I just don't buy it.

I mean it's not like we haven't already beaten two decent sides 4-1 at home (whether they came to play or not).
Or maybe that's part the reason if fans (or perhaps it's the players!) occasionally get complacent and think EVERY home game will be 3 points.

For example who expected Salisbury ? Or for us to concede 3 goals in 15 mins ? And why do we sometimes start slow ?
Who really knows but it might explain more than we think IMO....

Don't forget people that we may be third but teams around us have a game in hand and Wrexham have two games in hand!  Realistically it's fifth place if the others win that game, but still good result and we have to keep on winning.

Still better to have the points on the board than the game in hand. Plus we now don't have to go to Tamworth on a cold wet Tuesday night in Feb!
