It certainly was. If it had gone 1-0 the other way we would have been 7th and Eastleigh 3rd, 4 points ahead and a game in hand plus we would have lost ground on the top two. So a great result. Can't ask for more.

We also created very little today. The good run is over, just hope we don't see Grimsby again in the play offs."

Finally a little luck with results, normally coming into a game like today we fluff it and lose or every other result in the league goes against us despite the win, like others have said I wish we would kill games off instead of the squeaky bum time at the end

Just read this on another forum from an Eastleigh fan:

"Good solid side are Grimsby, beat us fair and square and left us devoid of ideas on an afternoon when we looked out of sorts really. Far better than Cheltenham and better defensively than FGR. Anyone who finishes above them will be champions".

I've not seen a better side than us this season but annoyingly, we are not already top because of slip ups against also rans. Let's hope we are just clicking into gear now and we storm up the league.

We are clearly one of the better sides in a tight league. Still a long way to go but if we can continue to put a strong run together anything can happen. I have said all season that this is the most entertaining town team I've seen in years. I really hope they can deliver over the length of the season.
