The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Wolves 2nd Leg

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 02/10/2000

Grimsby manager, Lennie Lawrence announced his strategy for tonights game against Wolves in the second leg of the Worthington Cup. Lennie has decided to abandon the wing back system and instead opt for a four at the back formation.

"The target is to get a goal" he said. "If we do that, then they have to score three to win it outright and if they do that we don't deserve to win it anyway" Tough talking from Lennie. But with taking a goal lead to Molineux, Grimsby have an advantage and an early goal will seal Wolves fate. Wolves are not Barnsley so the team should forget about Saturday's game and go all out to reach the next round of this competition. Town's lineup is: Coyne, Butterfield, McDermott, Groves, Handyside, Gallimore, Bloomer, Raven, Pouton, Donovan, Coldicott, Allen, Clare, Jeffrey, Croudson, Rowan.
