Campbell Loan Extension

Town manager Lennie Lawrence is attempting to persuade premiership leaders Leicester City to extend midfielder Stuart Campbell's loan spell at Blundell Park for up to two months. With some big games coming up in the next few weeks, Campbell's services are very much required in the near future.

The 22-year-old still has two more games left from his initial month on loan but Lawrence is thinking ahead beyond those two games to secure Campbell for a further two months on loan. With each day going by with no new faces at the club, other than a few trialists (who in any case are ineligible for the first team), Cambpell will be needed over the next few games to supplement the meagre squad that Lawrence has acquired. Meanwhile, Lennie Lawrence will give Scottish midfielder Neil Murray his promised trial game in next week's reserve game against Blackpool, after clearance from the German FA failed to come through in time for Wednesday's reserve game against Stoke.
