Black Joins Imps on Loan

Kingsley Black has joined 3rd division Lincoln City on a month's loan in a deal which suits both clubs. Black, who has been on the fringes of the Town squad this season and last, has just recovered from injury, and was unlikely to feature in the Mariners first team in the next few games.

Lawrence sees this as a good opportunity for the 32-year-old midfielder to get some 1st team football and help Black to return to full fitness. With reserve team games currently used chiefly to test new trialists and blood a few youngsters, the Grimsby manager has opted for a loan spell for Black, who he still sees as an important member of his squad. The Town boss said today "This is a good opportunity for him [Kingsley] to get in some first team football. His attitude to the game has always been first class" Black had been expected to leave during the summer on a Bosman but signed up for an additional year with the Mariners just before the start of the current season.
