Clare Joins Imps

Unsettled Mariners striker Daryl Clare has joined neighbours Lincoln City on a one-month loan deal. Having completed a loan spell at Northampton Town, Imps boss Phil Stant has negotiated an agreement that will see the 22-year old become the second Grimsby player to join Lincoln this year.

Kingsley Black spent a month on-loan at Sincil Bank earlier this season, before returning to Grimsby with an injury that has since kept him out of regular action. Former Republic Of Ireland Under-21 international Clare had just returned to Blundell Park after a month's loan with the Cobblers that saw him fail to find the net in his five first-team appearances. Clare, who watched Boxing Day's 1-1 draw with Stockport from the stands is expected to start training with the Imps tomorrow, although he will be forced to wait for his debut after Lincoln's fixture with Halifax was postponed due to bad weather.
