Livvo Returns?

By: Richard Lord
Date: 04/04/2001

GRIMSBY striker Steve Livingstone is eyeing a return in time for the vital home clash with Tranmere at Blundell Park this Saturday. The influential front man was told he needs two days' training under his belt if was going to be included in the squad of 16 to face the sternest test of the season.

Livingstone has been a key figure in Town's season, scoring 6 goals so far this term. In his absence, the Mariners have struggled to find a goalscoring combination up front, and the return of the 32-year old may signal a return to scoring ways.

Without doubt the most successful front partnership this season was the Livingstone/Allen partnership, but Allen is still sidelined through injury.

At the back, Peter Handyside looks set to play after Zhang Enhua's departure. The former Scotland Under-21 International will partner captain Paul Groves in central defence.

The relegation clash between Grimsby and Tranmere has promoted a special offer at the club shop, where juniors can attend the match free with a full-paying adult.
