Bashful Buckley Says Grimsby Tie Just Another Game
By: Bill Osborne

ALAN BUCKLEY, was sacked as Grimsby manager just two games into last season, rates the Worthington Cup tie the Mariners as "just another game" but says he still wants to win it! "This game means nothing more to me than any other tie." claimed the Lincoln City boss today.
"Whether we had drawn Grimsby or anyone else is of no consequence because at the end of the day this is just another game of football that we want to win."
However Buckley did concede, to the Grimsby Telegraph, that it would mean a lot to both sets of fans. "Local derbies always attract an added edge but I am just approaching it as another match. The name of the game is to win and that is what we will be doing when the match comes around, we are looking forward to it."
"Records mean nothing in football, it is all about what happens on the day. They will start as favourites but nothing is a certainty in this game and we will be going there with the intention of getting a result."
"...Grimsby may have the higher status in the league ...they achieved that because I went there..."
The bashful Mr Buckley also stated: "Grimsby may have the higher status in the Football League than us at the moment, and they achieved that because I went there, but we'll have to see if we can change that around."
