Allen And Ford Latest!

BRADLEY Allen has gone to Brighton today and will be with them all week with a view to a permanent move, the Grimsby Telegraph revealed today, adding that his departure, and Boulding's, means the Mariners have lost the two men whose strike partnership fired them to First Division safety last season.

With Brighton promoting director of youth Martin Hinshelwood to the managers job Allen will be desperate to prove he is worth a contract. Although he has been at Blundell Park and training with the squad, he has not been offered a deal, and has had to look elsewhere.

Simon Ford is now back at Blundell Park and is training with the Mariners for the first time today and will be going with them on the pre-season tour. The Grimsby Telegraph reporting also that Manager Paul Groves has been locked in talks with the board about how much they can offer last season's Young Player of the Year.

If Groves can keep him it will be a big boost to Town fans who have been left calling for the chairman's head following a string of big-name departures this summer. But Wolves cannot be ruled out. "He's training with Grimsby and I've spoken to Paul Groves." said agent George Lawrence. "He was talking to the board to see if they can offer him a new deal."
