Two Players Lined Up!

PAUL Groves was today given around £250,000 to bring new players to Blundell Park and the Grimsby Telegraph reports that he has already made offers to two un-named players and they could be signed in time for Friday's friendly with Stockport.
Yesterday the board of directors had a marathon meeting lasting 5 hours as they sought to bring peace to the table and settle the dispute between the two major shareholders.
Accordingly, an agreement was reached to bury the hatchet despite the strong words reported earlier this week in the media.
Peter Furneaux said "The board have got behind the manager. The different parties on the board have resolved their problems and have made money available to the manager." "Paul came to us yesterday and highlighted the players he wants and we've told him to go away and negotiate with them. He knows he has to work within the market and get value for money.
"But I think we will see some movement in the next few days."
Paul Groves commented: "The work starts now and we have targets in our minds. We want people in ASAP. The sooner the better. Time is of the essence when you consider how close we are to the start of the season."
"We're hopeful we'll get somebody in before Friday but it will be difficult. We'll have to wait and see on that."
