Danny Coyne Mystery Move?

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 07/04/2003

MARINERS Net have put Danny Coyne's shirt up for sale. Nothing remarkable about that you might say. But one has to read between the lines.

Mariners Net says; "This is a unique opportunity to get your hands on Danny Coyne's original match shirt from this season. Danny's got a new one, so we've commandeered his old one to sell on the Official Auction site."

If you believe that you will believe anything!!

What is true, is that this is the shirt that Danny has worn all season, including the recent game at the Walkers Stadium. Only original match shirts are allowed to carry the Nationwide/Football League badges on the sleeves. The shirt is also signed by Danny himself, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from GTFC.

It is also true that you can make a bid for the shirt!

But giving Danny a new shirt? Come off it! He got a new one only 3 seasons ago and GTFC are not that generous!!

The Fishy's Middle East correspondent informs us that secret negotiations have been going on between GTFC and Basra United and agreement has been reached on a transfer fee of 50,000 barrels of oil and one of Sadam Husseins palaces!

We have not yet confirmed the accuracy of this report but we can tell you that when asked if it was true, Mr Dale Ladson of Mariners Net replied; "no comment!" A sure giveaway!

So don't take the chance. You never know. If it is true, then you might miss out on a great opportunity to get the very last Danny Coyne signed shirt if you don't move fast.

And here's a bonus! If the person making the highest bid is registered on the Fishy, we will give that person a FREE match ticket at Blundell Park and we will arrange for Danny to present you with the shirt before the game starts!
