Hull City Deal For Macca Collapses!

JOHN McDermott's switch to Hull City is definitely OFF after the deal collapsed at the 11th hour. The Town skipper was set to sign a pre-contract agreement on a two-year deal yesterday before both parties had a change of heart, said the Grimsby Telegraph today.

"At the end of the day it wasn't what I wanted and it wasn't right for the club or me," said McDermott. I'll just keep my options open and it's still possible that I'll sign for Grimsby Town. But we'll see what's offered and what happens."

It seems almost certain that Paul Groves will re-open talks with Macca but if he is determined to leave Blundell Park and he gets a better offer, the collapse of the deal with Hull City may not be of much benefit to us.

Andy Dawson, the Scunthorpe United full-back who was also interesting Paul Groves has confirmed he will be signing for Hull City.
