Aidan Davison Appears To Be Still In The Frame!

PAUL Groves is back on the trail of Grimsby Town old boy Aidan Davison. Speaking to the Grimsby Telegraph from Ibiza last night, Groves said that he was still determined to land his number one target.

The move had been on the verge of collapse over Davison's wage demands and Groves said he then moved on to other options. But he has now indicated that he is still hoping to bring him to Blundell Park.

"We are still pursuing our number one target", said Groves. "We are hopeful that we can strike a deal. But with us being away things have slowed on that somewhat. People have speculated about who it is but we haven't changed from who we want in."

"We want it done as soon as we can because we are reaching the stage in pre-season now where we are doing things that need two keepers. We're also starting to move into our games and we would like it done."

Davison is available on a free after being released by Bradford and it was thought he had been lined up to replace Danny Coyne had he signed for Cardiff last summer and now with Coyne going to Leicester City it appears certain that Groves wants Davison at Blundell Park.
