GTFC Press Conference

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 22/04/2004

GRIMSBY Town Football Club have called a Press Conference for next Tuesday (27th April 2004) at 10:00 a.m. for what they describe as an exciting announcement regarding the Club's future.

One of the major announcements to be made is the Young's involvement as the clubs major sponsor which includes the shirt sponsorship.

But that may not be all. Young's are a national company with huge resources and being locally based they just might become more involved in the club. We will have to wait and see if that does eventuate but there are strong indications that it will. Apparently a Young's representative may serve on the board as part of the deal.

It is not known at this stage whether the sale of the 5 Star company will change anything as far as John Fenty is concerned. But if his past commitment to the club indicates anything, it is that nothing has changed and his commitment has not wavered.

There has been no indication that a statement concerning Mr Fenty is part of Tuesday's announcements but there has been a great deal of speculation about his future involvement and sooner or later he will probably comment on it. Tuesday might be the ideal opportunity.
