New Stadium Problems

RADIO Humberside reports that Grimsby Town Football Club face losing their proposed new stadium if work doesn't start in the next two-years.

Town's chairman, John Fenty, has held talks with senior officials at North East Lincolnshire Council, and the club is now looking into commissioning a feasibility study on the development. "What's absolutely vital is that we get planning permission before mid-2007

Fenty says it's crucial that work at Great Coates begins soon: "What's absolutely vital is that we get planning permission before mid-2007, because if we don't, we lose the allocation and then all of the money that's spent, the work that the developer's done, and the money that the football club's spent in the past will all be lost."

"So, it's absolutely vital that we get this feasibility study done quite quickly, and that we do achieve planning permission. We're working very hard on this and it's vital we get it done just to keep the thing alive and kicking."
