Crowe to Join Cobblers

JASON Crowe is to turn down an offer to stay with the Mariners after two years at Blundell Park. Instead the former Pompey utility player is to move to League Two rivals Northampton Town, reports BBC Radio Humberside.

The move is a blow for Russell Slade, who had given Crowe, one of the Mariners' most consistent performers, a 48 hour deadline to make up his mind over a new two year deal to stay at Blundell Park.

With former Shrewsbury midfielder Sam Aiston also having turned down Grimsby this week, the Mariners currently have virtually nobody at the club who can play in a midfield position. Current Squad
