TOWN boss Russell Slade was impressed by the performance of Gary Cohen in Monday's reserves opener against Darlington, and the Town chief may consider the Gretna loanee for a start on Saturday.

"There were some very impressive individual performances," he said. "Gary Cohen played very well. He caused them a lot of problems and he had a hand in Hegarty's goals."

Slade is unlikely to invite the trialists who played in the game back for another look.

Ciaran Toner, who has yet to make a start for the Mariners' first team because of injury, came through the game okay.

The Northern Ireland international injuring his ankle in the pre-season game against Rotherham but is now back in full training.

Jean Paul Kalala did not play in Monday's game, but is still on course fora return against Darlington on Saturday.
