RUSSELL Slade is hoping that John McDermott is fit for Saturday's game as both Whittle and Ramsden are out with injuries which may mean Slade fielding a make shift defence.
Slade revealed earlier this week that Whittle passed a late fitness test to play against Carlisle But he took a kick on his knee and now looks like being sidelined for a month.
Slade said: "Whitts is struggling with his knee after Monday and could well be out for several weeks."
Ramsden may also be out for two weeks with an ankle injury which is why Slade is hoping Macca is able to play. He is back in training and is hoping he can make the game.
