Rochdale (A) Player Ratings

Barnes 6 - Erratic performance. Made some good saves, but had some dodgy moments especially when he let header through his hands and onto the post.

Croft 6.5 - Defended well and supported ably down the more inventive right side.

Newey 5.5 - Poor marking nearly cost Town on a few occasions. Didn't offer much in attack and wasteful in possession.

Whittle 6 - Had a tough night, but saved Town with some good last-ditch blocks and tackles.

Fenton 7* - Town's best player and won nearly everything that came his way.

Bolland 6.5 - Another hard working performance although Town struggled to win the midfield battle.

Ravenhill 6 - Worked hard, but had little impact on the flow of the game.

Toner 5 - Invisible for most of the game. Struggled to get anything going down the left side and looked lost in the formation. Replaced towards the end.

Bore 6.5 - Initially quiet, but became Town's most dangerous player for most of the first half. Withdrawn at half time through injury.

Rankin 6.5 - Looked Town's most likely scorer; great shot against the bar, but woeful effort when one-on-one.

G Jones 6 - Ploughed away up front, but formation and frenetic pace didn't suit him.

Taylor 6 - Half time substitute for Bore. Looked lively and worked hard chasing lost causes.

Boshell N/A - Late replacement for Toner; no time to make any impact.
