Hartlepool Player Ratings

By: Ryan Hudson
Date: 27/09/2006

TOWN started well against Hartlepool, and hit the woodwork when they could have gone 2-0 up. It wasn't to be however as Pool came from behind to eventually win 4-1.

Phil Barnes. A night to forget. Slipped for the free kick and truly beaten for last goal. 5

Gary Croft. Not as good performance as his previous but did work hard. Did have good shot saved as well. 5

Justin Whittle. Couldn't handle the Hartlepool defence and really did struggle in the second half. Doesn't look the same as last season. 5

Nick Fenton. Good goal with his header, but must be wondering why he has joined Grimsby. Best defender on an awful night. 6

John McDermott:. Struggled in the second half and was also having problems with the Hartlepool defence. 5

Peter Beagrie. Basically opened the match up for Hartlepool to grab. Gave away penalty followed up by a horrible display. Not up to the job tonight. 4

Paul Bolland. OK in the first half but turned off in the second. Can do better but he came close in the first half when his shot was saved by the post. 6

Ricky Ravenhill . Poor game and can see why Chester didn't put up a fight to keep him. Got booked once again for a silly tackle. 5

Ciaran Toner. Worked hard and could keep his place against Darlington. One of the positives of the night. 6

Tony Thorpe. Tony Thorpe: Had a good first half and battled well on his debut . Replaced on second half but looked better then Lawson on Saturday. 6

Gary Jones. Wasn't his night. Didn't have any real chances and got done by the Hartlepool defence for pace. Will be under pressure when Cohen and Reddy return. 5
