Town to Appeal

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 31/12/2006

GRIMSBY will appeal against Nick Fenton's sending off at Stockport which cost Town the game, and would have resulted in a one match ban. As Town are appealing Fenton will be able to play in Monday's game against Rochdale.

Fenton was sent off for a dubious handball in the first half, for which the referee also awarded a penalty (which Stockport missed). Some people are of the opinion that Fenton was shown red for arguing about the decision, the original offence being just a yellow card, although that has not been confirmed.

Grimsby are likely to be signing some additional central defensive cover during the month of January, the first half of which they are without a game.
