Beat the Bookies: Week 38

WREXHAM'S superb away victory at Lincoln ensured another winner for Beat the Bookies at the weekend, although unfortunately Town didn't make it a double with a win over Accrington.

This weekend Grimsby entertain Barnet, who have strung together some decent results of late. Town in contrast have lost their sparkle recently. With the exception of the win at MK Dons, when they had their backs to the wall for most of the game, Town have not been in winning form and the season is drifting to a mediocre conclusion. And now the Mariners will be without James Hunt, their best midfielder for many recent games. All said and done Barnet are good value for an away win at 11/5.

Down the road at York Street Boston look dead and buried and the vultures are hovering. Although they entertain Chester whose recent form is poor, the Pilgrims can barely scrape 16 players together these days and its laughable that the bookies have made them odds on to win at home. Grab the 12/5 on offer for Chester to pick up 3 points.

A final bet worth considering is Accrington to win at Shrewsbury. Stanley's home for is excellent, as the Mariners found to their cost last week. However, although their away form is poor, Shrewsbury's are showing signs that their games in hand are beginning to catch up with them, and the 4/1 on offer for an away win is worthy of consideration.

Recommended Bets

  • 1. Barnet to beat Grimsby (11/5).
  • 2. Chester to beat Boston (12/5).
