TOWN reserves defeated a Leeds reserve side 2-1 at Elland Road last night. A spectacular strike from Nathan Jarman gave Grimsby the lead, and then a Danny Boshell penalty doubled Town's advantage before half time.

Leeds came out after the break and managed to pull a goal back but the Mariners ran out eventual winners.

Town play Leeds again next week at Blundell Park in the corresponding league fixtures.

Town: Gary Montgomery, Peter Bore, James Quinn, Jamie Clarke, Justin Whittle, Tom Newey, Nathan Jarman, Danny Boshell, Martin Butler, Andy Taylor, Isaiah Rankin

Subs: Steve Davis. Luke Foulkes, Josh Burge, Mark Courtley, Nathan Emson.
