Buckley Health Rumours Rubbished

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 29/05/2008

SPECULATION that the Town boss may have been critically ill had appeared on several message boards and spread anecdotally across the town. The club have been forced to step in and dampen the rumours.

Town boss Buckley when told of the stories, blasted: "I'm absolutely speechless. People have got to get a life. I don't know where these ridiculous things come from. People want to get on with whatever they are doing at this time of the year."

The Town boss offered an explanation of how the story had originated. "Perhaps someone saw me in Boots a couple of weeks ago and have put two and two together. I was buying some suntan lotion, by the way," he speculated.

Town chairman John Fenty reiterated his manager's words.

"These rumours that the manager wouldn't be here started to surface at the end of last season and haven't gone away. It is all nonsense and I can safely say that Alan Buckley will still be the manager here next season without question. Hopefully, this will dispel any scurrilous rumours and put the issue to bed."

"Alan has a long contract with us and I hope everyone continues to get behind him as we look to next season."

Grim Rob Says: Thank God that's cleared up and long reign Alan Buckley III! Now perhaps we can concentrate on getting some new signings.
