Trotts's Loan Extended

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 25/11/2008

IPSWICH midfielder Liam Trotter has extended his loan spell at Blundell Park for another month, his third consecutive period with the Mariners, which will also be his last under Football League Rules.

Trotter was signed on loan by former Town boss Alan Buckley but has been retained by new manager Mike Newell.

Tonight's game against Macclesfield would have been Trotter's final game had not Town renewed his loan. Because of Town's exit from the FA Cup it means Trotter can only play three games in his third spell for Grimsby.

There appears little prospect of Trotter coming to Blundell Park on a permanent basis.
