Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Beat the Bookies: Week 27

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 27/02/2010

Dag & Red v GRIMSBY

Grimsby have a good record away from home and have strengthened their team once again this week. Dagenham's recent record has been poor. Town are good value at 9/2 with Betfred.

Morecambe v PORT VALE

Morecambe have faded in recent games after a bright start. The matches they have won have generally been against the poorer sides. Vale are an inconsistent sides, brilliant one week and mediocre the next. Their confidence will be high though after drubbing Lincoln 4-0 last time out and could well take all three points here. Vale are 11/4 with Ladbrokes.

MACCLESFIELD v Rochdale

Rochdale lost in midweek for the first time in ages and now face a Macclesfield side who as Town found out in midweek are hard to play against and hard to beat. Dale could well come away with another spanking. Macclesfield are 7/2 with Sky Bet.

Notts County v HEREFORD

Notts County haven't won in four games and it's hardly the most settled club in League Two after recent events. Hereford are another inconsistent side but they'll be up for this game, which they have won both times it's been played before. Hereford are 6/1 with Sky Bet.

Today's Selections: Grimsby beat Dagenham, Hereford beat Notts County

The Monkey's Selection: Grimsby to win 3-1, 50-1
