KIDDERMINSTER are the latest team to refuse the Mariners permission to talk to their manager, Steve Burr. Earlier this week Darlington refused Town permission to speak to their boss Mark Cooper, who subsequently declined the chance to come to Blundell Park.

With Grimsby starting to interview the applicants for the post on Monday, the Mariners have asked permission to speak to the Kidderminster boss. It us not known whether Burr has applied for the post or been approached by the GTFC board.

A Kidderminster Harriers statement was issued as follows:

"After careful consideration and consultation with Steve himself, we have decided to deny Grimsby Town this permission.

"The club is currently in discussions with Steve about his own future here at Kidderminster Harriers.

"No further information is available at this time".
