Beat the Bookies: Week 27

BARNSLEY'S win at Blackpool was the only winner last week, but it was almost enough to pay for all the other losing tips.

Town are overwhelming favourites to beat Telford this weekend. The best price you'll get on them is a miserly 1.4, but Telford's recent form is too poor to make the away win look really tempting.

Premier League

  • Stoke v Reading - away win (4.6, Betfred). Reading's recent form is starting to look like no flash in the pan. They are third in the recent form table. Stoke are bottom of it with no wins in the last six games. Judging by the past few results there can be only one winner!

    League One

  • Notts County v Crewe - away win (3.75, Bet365). Notts County, still without a manager, are going nowhere at the moment. They have just 1 win in 4. Crewe's recent form is much better - they have 3 wins in 4.

    League Two

  • Chesterfield v AFC Wimbledon - away win (5.0, 888 Sport). AFC Wimbledon are one of the most consistent sides in the league at the moment. Apart from the midweek defeat at leaders Port Vale, they have not lost any of their last 6 games. Chesterfield's recent form is second best - just one win in six.

    Blue Square Premier

  • Newport County v Tamworth - away win (5.2, Marathon). Tamworth have a good away record, it's actually marginally better than their home form. They recently drew at Wrexham, which is one of the hardest road games in the division. Newport have not been great of late, and they've been vulnerable all season to home defeats by teams you'd expect them to beat.
