Neilson Returns

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 13/05/2013

SCOTT Neilson has returned to Blundell Park, signing a one-year deal with the Mariners. The 25-year-old controversially signing for Luton earlier this season whilst on loan at Blundell Park. However has was released by the Hatters over the summer after making just one appearance under new manager John Still.

Neilson's loan spell from Crawley, which lasted 11 games, coincided with Grimsby's best spell of the season, and he is a very welcome first summer signing for Grimsby.

Neilson's comments about Luton's ambitions were greeted with derision by some Mariners supporters at the time he made them in the local press after signing for the Hatters, however most Town fans will probably see them as a player trying to be positive about his new club, and not held it against the winger.
