Is football a business or a sport?

Town Leave it Late

GRIMSBY won 1-0 thanks to an Omar Bogle penalty for the second successive match. The Mariners dominated for long periods, but failed to create as many chances as their possession warranted.

Town's best chance in the opening 45 came when Andrew, after a brilliant ball from Summerfield, crossed in for Jackson who couldn't adjust his feet quickly enough to take advantage.

AT the other end Grimsby had to survive a barrage of long throws, with ex=FGR striker Parkin the chief target.

The match looked like being a 0-0 draw until Town got a break with a fairly soft penalty claim in the 88th minute when substitute Bolarinwa was brought down. Omar Bogle stepped up and calmly stroked the ball home.

The result was a triumph for the defence as much as the attack. Town absorbed a lote of balls into the box but rarely looked troubled. The second half substitutions worked perfectly with Bolarinwa's pace causing Newport problems and ultimately winning the game.

The result leaves Grimsby in a play-off spot just one point off second place.
