Jason Pearcey Aaah! The great Pearcey! Who can forget those truly terrible performances in the relegation season? Still, to this day, I believe that if we had a decent keeper in goal that season (i.e.: not Pearcey) we would have stayed up.

Pearcey flapped at EVERY cross thrown at him. This was exploited to the full away at Swindon that year, when he was so bad that he was wobblier than Tony Gallimore on a Friday night, which is some feat!

Kenny Swain then realised we had a weakness and signed Alan Miller on loan, but this did not last for long and Pearcey was soon back to his bad old ways and we went down. Within a year Buckley had him ousted to Brentford, but unfortunately Pearcey has recently retired due to a leg injury.

However I will refuse to lay the blame of this particular bad signing on the shoulders of Brian Laws, because it was John Cockerill who signed him while he was caretaker manager in 1994 in a swap with Jason Trinder! Not Cockers best ever move.
