Ian Baraclough

Baraclough was a left back as far as I can remember who basically played . well. not very often! He was kept out the side by Paul Agnew, Kevin Jobling and the emerging Gary Croft, which was no real shame for a player who was only in his early twenties at the time. Baraclough was reasonably tall for a Town player.. something which could explain why he was not played that often by our "anti tall man" manager, Alan Buckley.

So, after a handful of appearances for the Mariners he went down the road to our good friends at Lincoln City and since then has actually done quite well through the lower leagues, playing for Mansfield, Notts County (who he rejoined last year) and QPR in division one, proving perhaps that he should have been given a better chance with the Mariners.

Next Player: Kevin Donovan
