Santos: Final Talks!

PAUL Groves is having talks make-or-break talks with George Santos today to get him to return to Blundell Park. Santos has been in France for the last month as talks came to a halt over personal terms.

Groves told the Grimsby telegraph "We're speaking to him today and, one way or the other, it needs sorting out. It's not dead in the water but there's obviously a sticking point or it wouldn't have dragged on this long."

Santos thought that he would have to serve a three-match ban as soon as he re-signed for the club. But it is now believed that he may be spared the suspension because he has not signed for another club and has effectively served the ban.

Santos said: "It would be nice if that is the case. I still want to come to Grimsby and we are still talking. I'm working hard on my fitness with a French third division club. It could still happen, but I will stay in France until the personal terms are agreed."
